Community of Practice: Implementing the MHCC's National Standard

In 2021, we established a national community of practice with colleagues in higher education who are working to implement the Mental Health Commission of Canada's National Standard for Mental Health and Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students. Our members are administrators, directors, counsellors, health promotion specialists, and other student services staff focused on implementing the Standard. This is a free, grassroots community of practice intended to offer a supportive, collaborative forum for colleagues.

We meet monthly to share resources, strategies, and approaches to implementing the Standard on campuses across Canada. Sample topics include:

  • Engaging students in service design
  • Stakeholder consultations
  • Data-informed policy development
  • Evaluating and reporting on the implementation of student mental health strategies
