Counselling

It is always waiting to be discovered."

My Counselling Approach

I specialize in providing counselling to youth and millennials coping with anxiety, depression, life changes (breakups, loss, grief), plus the daunting task of "figuring it all out". In therapy, I'll walk with you through difficult emotions, challenge you, and build hope and healing. My counselling practice is guided by an anti-oppressive, feminist approach. I strive to be inclusive and affirming of diverse identities and life experiences.

My clients say I have a knack for gentle, curious questions leading to meaningful change. I combine my clinical skills with authenticity, empathy - plus a healthy dose of humour! We'll be a good fit if you are motivated, self-reflective, and ready to get to work.

Ready to learn more? Check out my Instagram, my favourite counselling resources, or book a free 10-minute phone consultation. A consultation is a brief, informal chat to explore your goals, my approach, and what it might look like to work together.

Here's what I believe in.

Anti-Oppression

I'm committed to learning and unlearning. My counselling practice is guided by an anti-oppressive, feminist approach. As a therapist, I aim to be inclusive, affirming, and foster safer spaces in our work together.

Healing & Growth

I believe in YOU. It's as simple as that. The best part of being a therapist is seeing people surprise themselves. My clients have expressed that our work together has helped build their hope and uncovered new depths of courage.

Collaboration

I value your active participation in our counselling sessions and will seek your feedback. I see you as the unique expert in your own life. We both bring valuable knowledge and skills to the therapeutic process.

How It Works

1. Free 10-minute Consultation

It's important to find a therapist who is a good fit. To start, we'll book a free 10-minute phone consultation. Our call is an informal chat about your goals, my approach, and what it might look like to work together.

2. Book an Appointment

After our call, we can book your first counselling session. Learn more about the practical stuff (fees, location) below.

The Practical Stuff

Who I Work With

I provide individual counselling to teenagers (age 16+) and adults in Ontario. I do not offer couples counselling or family therapy.

In-Person, Phone, or Video

I provide counselling in-person, by phone, or by video. Video counselling can be as effective as in-person therapy. Some people prefer phone/video counselling for convenience or to cut down on commuting.

Fees

I charge $140 per 50 minute counselling session. Payment is due at the beginning of each session (e-transfer or credit card). Many extended health plans cover counselling provided by a registered social worker.

Cancellation Policy

I require 24 hours notice for all cancellations, except in emergencies. Clients will be charged the full session fee for no-shows and sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.
